Andre Dubus III

Dirty Love (W.W. Norton; $25.95) is a collection of linked novellas in which love is tangled up with need, power, boredom, ego, fear, and fantasy. Dubus III is the author of The Garden of Last DaysHouse of Sand and Fog--a finalist for the National Book Award--and Townie, winner of an American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Literature.

Norton; $24.95) writer/knitter Ann Hood collects essays by twenty-seven writers, including Ann Patchett, Barbara Kingsolver, John Dufresne, and Andre Dubus III, about how knitting healed, challenged, or helped them grow.
