Motherhood Exaggerated (Cavancerry, $21.00) is Judith Hannan’s memoir of her efforts to shepherd her child out of illness, towards health and survival. Hannan recounts the ordeal of her young daughter’s battle with cancer and how the frightening medical journey tested and strengthened a mother’s resilience. The book features contributions by Alan M. Dershowitz and Dr. Leonard Wexler. Hannan teaches writing about personal experience to homeless single mothers and to at-risk adolescents. Her essays have appeared in many publications, among them Woman's Day, Twins Magazine and The Martha's Vineyard Gazette.
