Senior Fellow for the Council of Foreign Relations, Steve Cook, argues in The Struggle for Egypt:  From Nasser to Tahrir Square (Oxford University Press, $27.95) Egyptian rebellion that led to the overthrow of Hosni Mubarak had its roots much earlier in Egyptian history. Cook, who was in Cairo when the revolts broke out, provides one of the first historical analyses explaining the reasons behind the uprising. Incredibly vivid...the single best book on Egypt"--Fareed Zakaria. Previously, Cook was a research fellow at the Brookings Institution and a research fellow at the Washington Institute for near East Policy.   Cook is also the author or Ruling But Not Governing:  the Military and Political Development in Egypt, Algeria, and Turkey
