Naomi Wolf on Vagina: A New Biography

Saturday, Nov. 17, 11:30 a.m., Chapman Conference Center (Building 3, 2nd Floor, Room 3210)

Author(s) and Guest(s)

Naomi Wolf

Since her international bestseller The Beauty Myth was published in 1991, Naomi Wolf has explored how rigid standards of beauty promoted by the media harmed women; investigated the sexual coming-of-age of young American women on high school and college campuses; and exposed our culture's increasingly commercial approach to childbirth and motherhood.  In her latest, Vagina: A New Biography (Ecco, $27.99), Wolf reveals a new connection based on cutting-edge research.  Drawing on work ranging from evolutionary biologists, to tradition-based tantric masters, to some of the most recent neurobiological research, Wolf demonstrates the profound connection the vagina has to the female brain.  Wolf is the author of seven bestselling books and co-founder of the Woodhull Institute for Ethical Leadership. Her essays and writings have appeared in The New Republic, Esquire, Ms., The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, and The New York Times.
