Dear Friend,
This is an exceptional time to be a Friend of the 2010 Miami Book Fair International.
If you’re an old friend, then you know that last year’s Fair was one of our best yet! During these difficult economic times, we are particularly honored to share this success with our Friends. Now more than ever, you can take pride in helping to make the Fair happen.
If you are a new friend, we want to welcome you to our community of book lovers, our family of cultural frontrunners. And make no mistake: the Miami Book Fair is a cultural landmark.
The Miami Book Fair has offered twenty-six years of diverse literary programming. The Fair was one of the first organizations to present brilliant, thought-provoking programs in South Florida, and was hailed by The New York Times as the model for all of the book festivals that have since been founded in the U.S.
We look forward to a bright future of notable books, prize winning authors, Ibero-American literary greats, activities that get kids excited about reading, and more. Despite the economic challenges, we have no doubt that the Miami Book Fair will continue to thrive and surpass all expectations.
But we need your financial support to maintain the kind of programming that has always set us apart, the kind of programming you love.
Friends of the Miami Book Fair can take comfort in knowing their contribution supports the literary arts, one of the most vital and necessary components of any culture. When you renew your Friends membership this year, please consider making an additional donation to the Fair. A gift of $40 can make a big difference.
Please visit www.miamibookfair.com to learn more about how your support can help keep the Fair going.
Thank you for giving so selflessly of yourselves and for contributing to a literary legacy.
