James Allen Hall is the author of two books of poetry and a book of lyric essays: Now You’re the Enemy (University of Arkansas, 2008), Romantic Comedy (Four Way Books, 2023), and I Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well (Cleveland State Poetry Center, 2017). They are the recipient of two Poetry Fellowships from the National Endowment of the Arts as well as fellowships from the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, the Civitella Ranieri Foundation, the New York Foundation for the Arts, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, the University of Arizona Poetry Center, and the Maryland State Arts Council. They have received awards from Lambda Literary, the Texas Institute of Letters, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers. Recent work has appeared in Copper Nickel, Another Chicago Magazine, and The Adroit Journal, The Best American Poetry 2025, and the 2026 Pushcart Prize Anthology. James teaches at Washington College, where they direct the Rose O’Neill Literary House. They are the cohost of Breaking Form: A Poetry and Culture Podcast. En este taller, ampliaremos esa definici\u00f3n al abordar la ecfrasis no como escribir sobre una obra de arte, sino como escribir hacia, desde y con la obra misma. A trav\u00e9s de una serie de indicaciones guiadas y tiempo de escritura generativa, los participantes se involucrar\u00e1n con las exposiciones actuales del Instituto de Arte Contempor\u00e1neo de Miami para experimentar con una variedad de enfoques ecfr\u00e1sticos.
