Sixty-five of the world’s leading writers open up in By the Book: Writers on Literature and the Literary Life por Pamela Paul, editor of the New York Times Book Review.  This year, Paul returns to the Fair for “By the Book, Live @ MBF,” a panel of distinguished authors who’ll join Paul to discuss all things literary:

Sloane Crosley is a bestselling author and a frequent contributor to the New York Times. Her first novel, The Clasp, is part comedy of manners, part treasure hunt.

The winner of a Pulitzer Prize for criticism, Margo Jefferson worked for years as a theater and book critic for Newsweek The New York Times. Her latest book, a memoir, is Negroland (Pantheon), a meditation on race, sex, and American culture through the prism of the author’s rarefied upbringing and education among the black elite.

Brad Meltzer is a bestselling author as well as the host of the History Channel series Brad Meltzer’s Decoded . His latest biography for children in the inspirational series Ordinary People Change World is I Am Helen Keller.Meltzer’s new thriller is the latest installment in the Culper Ring Series is The President’s Shadow.

Rick Moody is the author of four previous novels as well as an award-winning memoir and multiple collections of short fiction. His latest work of fiction, Hotels of North America, demonstrates his mastery ability to push the bounds of the novel.

T.J. Stiles is the winner of the 2009 National Book Award in Nonfiction and the 2010 Pulitzer Prize in Biography. In his new book, Custer’s Trials: A Life on the Frontier of a New America Stiles paints a portrait of Custer both deeply personal and sweeping in scope, proving how much of Custer’s legacy has been ignored, revealing a volatile, contradictory person.
