JULIE ORRINGER is the author of Luna, Phoenix, Queen: A Novel (Knopf); How to Breathe Underwater: Stories; and the novels The Invisible Bridge and The Flight Portfolio, which was the basis for the Netflix series Transatlantic. Her awards include El París Review Plimpton Prize for Fiction, two Pushcart Prizes, The Yale Review Editors’ Prize, Ploughshares’ Cohen Award, and the Anne and Robert Cowan Award from the Jewish Community Endowment Fund. She is a recipient of fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Dorothy and Lewis B. Cullman Center at the New York Public Library, the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard, and MacDowell. She teaches at New York and Stanford universities.
