The Very Nice Box: A Novel, from co-authors Laura Blackett y Eve Gleichman, is an offbeat, wryly funny debut that blends workplace satire and mystery around a core theme of triumph after tragedy. As it follows the troubled relationship between the only two Black women working in a major publishing house, Zakiya Dalila Harris’ The Other Black Girl becomes both a smart, dynamic thriller and a sly social commentary. Moderated by Dr. Donna Aza Weir-Soley, associate professor of English at Florida International University, writer and scholar in the areas of African and African diaspora studies, Caribbean literature, and women’s studies.
