A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame/Case Western Reserve Fellow, she was named LA Press Club’s 2023 Entertainment Journalist of the Year and received the 2023 and 2025 Criticism of Music award, and the National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards’ Independent Journalist in 2024. She is a 2025 Gracie Winner for Best Podcast for The Boar’s Nest, and the creator of and contributor to Woman Walk The Line: How The Women of Country Music Changed Our Lives, recipient of the 2018 Belmont Book Award.
