PEPE MAR nació en México y vive y trabaja en Miami. Obtuvo su BFA en el California College of the Arts (CCA), San Francisco, y su MFA en la Florida International University. Próximas exposiciones incluyen una muestra individual en el Currier Museum of Art en Manchester, New Hampshire (2026), entre otras. Su obra ha sido expuesta ampliamente y se encuentra en importantes colecciones, incluyendo el Seattle Art Museum, el High Museum of Art en Atlanta, el Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA) Miami, y el Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art en Kansas City, Missouri, entre otros. Su trabajo ha aparecido en The New York Times, Artforum, ARTnews, Art in America, The Artnewspaper, Bomb, Burnaway, Panorama, y otros.
