For the past twenty-seven years, the LAMBDA Literary Awards, known affectionately as “the Lammys,” have identified and celebrated the best LGBTQ books of the year. Reading Queer celebrates them and their influence with a reading of the very authors they’ve variously recognized. Four poets—Rick Barot (Chord), Dawn Lundy Martin (Life in a Box is a Pretty Life); Stephen S. Mills (A History of the Unmarried); and Valerie Wetlaufer (Call Me by My Other Name)—all past Lammy winners and/or finalists, will read from their latest work.
