Theme: Finding Your Voice in Verse

Poetry can be freeing or daunting (or both!), depending on your relationship to it. In this session, we’ll delve into the power of poetics and help you access your inner poet to make meaning on the page. Whether you’re new to writing poems or working on a larger verse project, like a lyric essay or even a novel in verse, you’ll find new ways to get unstuck and motivate yourself with short readings, prompts, and exercises you can take into the future.

Jiordan Castle es el autor de Disappearing Act, a memoir in verse. Her writing appears in El neoyorquino, El Rumpus, Los Millones, and elsewhere, including the anthologies Best New Poets 2024 y What My Father and I Don’t Talk About (2025). She received her MFA in poetry from Hunter College and now lives in Philadelphia with her husband and their dog.
