JERRY STAHL, author of Gonzo Neurotic: The Best (and Not So Best) of Jerry Stahl (ZE Books), is an award-winning novelist, journalist, and screenwriter who has written 11 books, including the bestselling I, Fatty: A Novel y Permanent Midnight: A Memoir, which was made into a movie starring Ben Stiller. Nein, Nein, Nein!: One Man’s Tale of Depression, Psychic Torment, and a Bus Tour of the Holocaust, was included in Kirkus’ 100 best nonfiction books of 2022 and optioned by Robert Downey. Stahl’s much-anthologized journalism and fiction have appeared in a variety of venues, including Escudero, El creyente, Vice, The New York Times, y el Pushcart Prize Anthology. He has written for an eclectic roster of TV and film, including multiple episodes of Maron as well as Alf, Twin Peaks, the most-watched episode of CSI: Las Vegas,andShowtime’s Escape at Dannemora, for which he received an Emmy nomination. His film credits include HBO’s Hemingway & Gellhorn, which was nominated for a Writers Guild Award; Bad Boys 2; y Urge, along with the cult classics Dr. Caligari y Café Flesh, co-written with director Stephen Sayadian. Stahl has also taught at Sylmar Juvenile Hall and San Quentin Rehabilitation Center. A new novel, Bad Sex in the Afterlife: A Novel, will be published by Arcade Books in early 2027. He is the father of two daughters, Stella and Nico, and is married to writer Zoe Hansen.
