Compelled to flee New York City, she heads to the sweltering hills above Los Angeles in search of Alice, the only person alive who can help her make sense of her past. There she unravels the horrific event from her childhood that has haunted her every waking moment, and ultimately summons the power to finally strike back. A depiction of female rage at its rawest, Animal is a visceral exploration of the fallout of a male-dominated society. People observed that with “skill and insight, Taddeo examines how the savagery of men fuels female rage. The result is as intimate as it is explosive.”
