Storybook Picnic / Picnic de Libros is a bilingual, family day program featuring storytelling, theatre, music, arts and crafts, dance, and picnic baskets full of books, free to keep, with the goal of encouraging literacy while exposing kids to the richness and variety of the cultural traditions in our diverse community. Produced by the Koubek Center and Fundación Cuatrogatos, with the support of Miami Book Fair.   

As part of Big Read programming, storytellers will interpret the picture book A Different Pond written by Bao Phi and illustrated by Thi Bui. Arts activities inspired by Vietnamese Children’s Day traditions are planned for the children. MBF will distribute free copies of A Different Pond epi The Best We Could Do to families. 

Raffle: Mango and Peppercorn Gift Basket
Each attendee will receive one raffle ticket for a chance to win a curated gift basket that includes many of the ingredients to make Hy Vong’s signature spring rolls, as well as assorted sweets, and a copy of Mang ak Grenn Pwav: Yon Memwa sou Manje, yon Fanmi Enprevizib, ak Rèv Ameriken an.
