Speak Up: Teen Creative Writing + Performance program is Miami Book Fair’s free virtual workshop series for teens ages 13-19 in grades 6-12 that was designed to power the creative process in community with other teens. As free of charge as it is free of homework, no previous experience necessary to participate. Featuring SAJNI PATEL, autor de Rick Riordan Presents: A Drop of Venom, in which Circe goes YA in this epic retelling of the Medusa myth steeped in Indian mythology. Alternating between narrator perspectives, Patel weaves together lush language, high stakes, and page-turning suspense, demanding an answer to the question, “What does it truly mean to be a monster?”
