Ready for a new friend? Grow your very own Grass-Hair Friend and discover the magic happening inside a tiny seed! As you build and decorate your one-of-a-kind character, you’ll learn how seeds germinate and what they need to sprout and grow. Then, take your new friend home and give it plenty of care, patience, and water as you watch its grassy hair come to life! How wild will your friend’s new hair grow?

This event is a ticketed Create! featured workshop. All featured workshops require a free ticket to attend due to limited seating. Tickets may be picked up at the Info Booth in Children’s Alley; a standby line will be available for each workshop in the event a ticketed attendee does not show up.

Melissa Niemann is a Colombian multidisciplinary artist and journalist living in Miami. Her work weaves together sculpture, masks, and natural materials such as paper, fiber, and organic textures to explore the poetic dialogue between humans and nature. Gifted with pedagogical insight, she facilitates creative workshops that awaken curiosity, sensory connection and the power of working with their hands.
