AMARIS CASTILLO is a journalist and the author of Bodega Stories (University Press of Florida), a collection of true stories from her parents’ Latin market in St. Petersburg, Florida. A former newspaper reporter, her work has appeared in Nouvèl Èdikay, Lowell Sun, Bradenton Herald, and other periodicals, as well as in several anthologies. Castillo holds a B.A. in journalism from the University of South Florida and an M.S. from Columbia Journalism School. She currently works at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies and lives in the Tampa Bay area with her family. Bodega Stories is her debut.
