MIRIAM LEWIN is a radio and television investigative journalist based in Buenos Aires, and a seven-time nominee for the Martín Fierro Prize. A political activist during Argentina’s civic-military dictatorship, she was kidnapped and disappeared. After being released she was a witness in the “Trial of the Juntas” in 1985, and in numerous cases for crimes against humanity. In 2020 she was elected by the Argentine Congress as defender of the audiences, a position she held until June 2024. Her investigative work revealing the facts of the Argentine junta’s “death flights” was featured on 60 Minutes and the podcast series The Burden: Avenger. Lewin also served as a consultant and co-author for the script of the Argentine television series based on her book Iosi, the Remorseful Spy (Seven Stories Press).
