STACEY MINDICH is a writer and a Tony-, Grammy-, and Olivier Award-winning theatrical producer. As sole lead producer, she nurtured the global hit Chè Evan Hansen through an eight-year development to acclaimed Broadway, North American tour, and West End runs. The show broke box office records, initiated a worldwide conversation about mental health, won six Tony Awards (including Best Musical), three Olivier Awards, and a Grammy, and now tours globally. Mindich has produced more than 30 plays and musicals, on and off-Broadway, and has received the Robert Whitehead Award for Excellence in Commercial Producing, the Actor’s Fund Medal of Honor, and a Lilly Award for championing women theater artists. She was also awarded the George Arents Award, Syracuse University’s highest alum honor, in 2022. Before theater producing, she was a reporter at Nouvèl Èdikay and a senior editor at several magazines, including Self, Savvy, Departures, ak Vil ak Peyi, where she wrote the title’s book Elegant Weddings book, and her articles and essays have appeared in many newspapers, magazines, and anthologies. As a philanthropist, Mindich serves as chair of Miami New Drama, is a trustee of the Jewish Book Council, and a member of Miami Book Fair’s Leadership Council. Her newest initiative is the Stacey and Eric Mindich Fund for Jewish Stories, which seeds the creation of new Jewish narratives across a variety of mediums and supports MBF’s Jewish Life & Culture programming series and its Emerging Writer Fellowships program, through the Mindich Fellowship for Jewish Fiction. She also serves on the board of Lincoln Center Theater, is chair emerita at New York City Center, and is a founding board member of The Lily Awards.
