Dr. Sarah Mendez is a pediatrician and public health advocate specializing in immigrant family care. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, she co-founded the nonprofit CareBridge to provide free medical services and advocacy for underserved youth in South Florida. Her writing has appeared in The Atlantic and STAT News, addressing issues of access, equity, and mental health. Mendez’s first book, Healing in Transit: Stories from the Clinic, will be published in 2026 by Beacon Press.
