Ron Magill

RON MAGILL is the co-author, with Greg Cote, of Sex and the Animals: The Bizarre and Beautiful World of Procreating in the Wild (Mango), and the host of HITN’s national wildlife documentary program, Mundo Salvaje con Ron Magill. A nature photographer and Zoo Miami Foundation’s goodwill ambassador and conservation liaison, Magill has worked with wildlife for more than 46 years. He has appeared in many television programs, including National Geographic Explorer, Today, Good Morning America, The Late Show, CBS This Morning, and Dateline, and on CNN and the Discovery Networks, as well as Spanish-language networks Univision and Telemundo. He’s written and produced many wildlife articles and award-winning photographs that have appeared in publications and galleries worldwide; traveled extensively throughout Africa, Asia, and Tropical America while developing and directing conservation projects; and won five Emmy awards for his work on nature documentary programs. Still, he considers establishing the Ron Magill Conservation Endowment at the Zoo Miami Foundation – the largest of its kind at the zoo and providing tens of thousands of dollars annually for wildlife conservation projects – his proudest professional accomplishment.
