Carole Demesmin

CAROLE DEMESMIN is a Haitian-born multidisciplinary artist, author, singer, actress, painter, and cultural producer. Her most recent work is the book Four Breaths of Kiskeya/Quatre Souffles de Quisqueya/Kat Souf Kiskeya (self-published), a trilingual journey into the life of Haiti’s Queen Anacaona. A pioneering Haitian alum of Berklee College of Music, Demesmin has spent more than five decades preserving and advancing Haitian music, spirituality, and cultural heritage worldwide. Her recordings include Carole Maroule, Min Rara, Lawouze, and Kongayiti-Afrika. She is the founder of United Haitian Artists and the founder and president of Bel Ayiti Corp, through which she produces major cultural works and writes trilingual literature in English, French, and Kreyòl Ayisyen.
