DANIEL R. PORTERFIELD is the president and CEO of the Aspen Institute and has been recognized as a visionary strategist, transformational leader, devoted educator, and passionate advocate for justice and opportunity. He previously served as the president of Franklin & Marshall College, where he led the school in tripling its percentage of incoming low-income students and doubling its population of domestic students of color. Porterfield has received numerous awards and recognitions for his work and holds bachelor’s degrees from Georgetown University and the University of Oxford. He earned his Ph.D. at the CUNY Graduate Center.
