Laura Vega is a Cuban American short story writer and essayist. Her fiction has appeared in Tin House, The Sun, and Electric Literature. Her debut collection, Other Names for Home, won the 2025 Iowa Short Fiction Award. Vega teaches at Florida Atlantic University and is at work on a novel about Miami’s changing neighborhoods.
