DR. DONNA AZA WEIR-SOLEY, PH.D., is an associate professor of English and an affiliate faculty member in African and African diaspora studies and women’s studies at Florida International University. A Mellon and Woodrow Wilson fellow, Weir-Soley is the author of Eroticism, Spirituality and Resistance in Black Women’s Writings; co-editor of the anthology Caribbean Erotic; and the author of three poetry collections: First Rain, The Woman Who Knew, and her latest collection, Love in a Season Of Dying (Peepal Tree Press). Her critical and creative writings have been published in scholarly and creative writing journals and edited volumes.
