In Uncle Scotchy and The Time Thief: A Caregiver’s Journey Into The Blues, Eric Garcia returns to Miami after his mother’s early-onset Alzheimer’s diagnosis to act as her caregiver, a role that will consume the next 18 years of his life. He chronicles his experience as a caregiver and with the demon he calls the time thief – one who steals his mother’s mind, his father’s body, and years that he can never get back. He sits down with “The Biscayne Poet,” Oscar Fuentes, author of Geography of Light: Poems.
