REBECCA FRIEDMAN is the founder and director of the Public Humanities Program at Florida International University. She is a 2024 Academic Studies Press author (Masculinity, Autocracy and the Russian University, 1804-1863) and her monograph Modernity, Domesticity and Temporality in Modern Russia: Time at Home explores the connections between time and culture, as shaped by history, geography, and social norms. She is widely recognized for using humanistic disciplines like poetry, art, and philosophy to engage with the public, making scholarly ideas accessible through public programming.
