Maxim D. Shrayer

MAXIM D. SHRAYER is a bilingual author, a Guggenheim fellow, and a professor at Boston College, where he founded the Jewish Studies program. Born in Moscow and a former refusenik, he is the author and editor of more than 30 books of nonfiction, biography, fiction, poetry, and literary translations, most recently the memoir Immigrant Baggage: Morticians, Purloined Diaries, and Other Theatrics of Exile and the poetry collections Parallel Letters/Parallel’noe pis’mo and Zion Square: Poems (Ben Yehuda Press). He is an editor at Academic Studies Press’ Immigrant Worlds & Texts series, which released Hyam Plutzik and the Mosaic of Time.
