Jen Karetnick‘s poetry collection American Sentencing is an examination of the physical body and the various indignities and ailments from which it can suffer; her collection The Treasures That Prevail is about climate change and its effects on Miami. Julie Marie Wade’s Six: Poems plumbs six essential aspects of human experience that have shaped us all: art, language, desire, vocation, faith, and life-changing love. Rita Maria Martinez’s The Jane and Bertha in Me, turns an unusual twist to the well-known characters from Jane Eyre, envisioning Jane at the guidance counselor, Bertha getting a makeover.
