Workshops: 1:30-2:30 p.m. ET (5 simultaneous virtual “cabins”)
Mentorships (30 minutes/1 on 1 for each kid) 2:30-3:30/4 p.m. ET

Free and open to all, priority given to Miami-Dade County students

Speak Up! Summer Camp is a six-day virtual creative writing camp for students in grades 6-12 to brainstorm activities, craft exercises, and engage in workshops established by poets and fiction writers. Campers will participate daily in master classes with best-selling authors, sponsored by Miami Book Fair at Miami-Dade College. A licensed therapist and writer will help students explore connections between mental health and the creative writing process, utilizing creative writing prompts alongside meditation exercises.
