MAIKA MOULITE is a Miami native, the daughter of Haitian immigrants, the eldest of four sisters, and an author whose work has been featured on the Today show and in Essence magazine. Her acclaimed young adult novels – co-written with her sister Maritza Moulite – frequently center around themes of identity, family, and vengeance. She is currently a doctoral student at Howard University, probing the intersection of artificial intelligence, culture, and media.
MARITZA MOULITE graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in women’s studies and the University of Southern California with a master’s in journalism. Her work – often created with her sister and writing partner, Maika Moulite – frequently examines the lives of marginalized people and revenge, and has been featured on NPR and Late Night with Seth Meyers. She is a Ph.D. student at the University of Pennsylvania exploring ways to improve literacy through children’s media.
