AIMEE NEZHUKUMATATHIL is a New York Times bestselling author of two illustrated collections of essays – Bite By Bite: Nourishments and Jamborees and World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, and Other Astonishments, a collection of nature essays that was a Barnes & Noble Book of the Year, as well as an NPR 2020 best book of the year. She has published several poetry collections, including Night Owl: Poems (Ecco), Oceanic, and Lucky Fish, and spent a decade serving as the poetry editor for environmental magazines, first for Orion Magazine and then Sierra, the storytelling branch of the Sierra Club. Her honors include poetry fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, United States Artists, and the Guggenheim Foundation. A professor of English and creative writing for more than 25 years, she gives firefly tours for Mississippi State Parks.
