Writer, musician, and Jewish educator ALICIA JO RABINS is the author of When We’re Born We Forget Everything: A Memoir (Schocken) and four additional books, including the poetry collections Divinity School, winner of the APR/Honickman First Book Prize, and Fruit Geode,finalist for the National Poetry Series and National Jewish Book Award. Her feature film A Kaddish for Bernie Madoff was called “a blessing” by The Atlantic. Rabins holds an MFA in poetry and an MA in Jewish women’s studies. As a songwriter, violinist, and composer, she tours internationally with Girls in Trouble, her indie-folk song cycle about women in Torah.
