ANASTASIA KINIGOPOULO is the curator of modern and contemporary art at the Currier Museum of Art in New Hampshire, where she curated Pepe Mar: Dream House and edited the accompanying catalog, published by Scala. Her current projects include Self-Made: A Century of Inventing Artists, the first group exhibition of self-taught artists in the Currier’s history, and the reinstallation of its permanent collection galleries. She previously served as director and curator of the Horseman Foundation, where she led the development of a collection of 400-plus works by artists historically omitted from the canon of 20th-century American art. Under her leadership, the foundation lent more than 130 objects to institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art and the National Gallery of Art. As a curator at the Columbus Museum of Art, she co-organized several nationally recognized exhibitions, including Art After Stonewall, 1969-1989, for which she received a 2020 Association of Art Museum Curators Award for Excellence. Her writing and editorial work have been published by Scala, Rizzoli, the Columbus Museum of Art, and Ohio University Press. She holds a BFA from The Cooper Union and an MA from the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture at the University of Delaware.
