CLAIRE JIMÉNEZ is the author of the short story collection Staten Island Stories, which received the 2019 Hornblower Award for a first book from the New York Society Library. Her fiction, essays, and reviews have appeared in several publications including Remezcla, AfroHispanic Review, Pank Magazine, The Rumpus, and Eater. Jimenez is a Puerto Rican writer who grew up in New York’s Brooklyn and Staten Island. What Happened to Ruthy Ramirez: A Novel (Grand Central Publishing) is her debut work of long fiction.
