Daniel Nguyen is a novelist and former engineer. Born in Houston to Vietnamese immigrants, he studied at Stanford University and later earned an MFA from Columbia. His debut novel, Paper Boats, explores intergenerational trauma and identity, and was longlisted for the 2024 Center for Fiction First Novel Prize. Nguyen also works as a writing coach and volunteers with refugee literacy programs.
