Dr. Jean‑Baptiste Charlot

DR. JEAN‑BAPTISTE CHARLOT, M.D., FACOG, is an obstetrician‑gynecologist in Miami with more than 40 years in care, education, and leadership. A graduate of the Université d’État d’Haïti, he completed residencies at Boston City Hospital and Ottawa Civic Hospital and earned his American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology certification in 1978. He currently serves as clinical OB/GYN director at the Center for Haitian Studies, mentoring students and residents while delivering multilingual care in English, French, Haitian Creole, and Spanish. Charlot previously directed the Women & Family Center at the Center for Haitian Studies, practiced extensively in South Florida hospitals, and also provided care in correctional and community health settings. He also served as a major in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps at Homestead Air Reserve Base. A Golden Stethoscope Award honoree, he holds appointments as professor and clinical instructor and is active in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Medical Association, and Florida medical associations. His career centers underserved communities and the training of future physicians.
