GILBERT CRUZ is the editor of The New York Times Book Review, where he oversees news, feature, and review coverage of books. He also hosts the weekly Book Review podcast, where he regularly interviews authors and other literary luminaries. Prior to Book Review, he ran The New York Times Culture department, overseeing coverage of film, pop music, television, classical music, art, and theater. A native of the Bronx, New York, he has also worked at Time, New York Magazine’s Vulture, and Entertainment Weekly.
