James Torres is a poet and spoken-word performer based in Miami. His work explores masculinity, diaspora, and family heritage. Torres has performed at the O, Miami Poetry Festival and appeared on HBO’s Def Poetry Jam. His chapbook, The Weight of Water, was published by Haymarket Books in 2024. He teaches workshops in performance poetry across the Southeast.
