JAYNE ANNE PHILLIPS is the author of the short story collection Black Tickets and the novels Machine Dreams, Fast Lanes, Shelter, MotherKind, Lark and Termite, Quiet Dell, and Night Watch,which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2024. Her most recent book is Small Town Girls: A Writer’s Memoir (Knopf). Her work has been a finalist for the National Book Award and twice for the National Book Critics Circle Award. A recipient of Guggenheim, National Endowment for the Arts, Howard, Bunting, and Rockefeller Foundation fellowships, she is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
