KATHIE KLARREICH is the founder and executive director of Exchange for Change, a Miami-based nonprofit that teaches writing, communication, and leadership courses in correctional facilities. Prior to her work with incarcerated individuals, she was a career journalist for major print, radio, and television. Her memoir, Madame Dread: A Tale of Love, Vodou and Civil Strife in Haiti,covers the 10 years she spent living in and reporting from the country.
