MARIO CARTAYA fled Cuba with his parents to the U.S. in 1960. There, he became an architect and founded a 43-year-long, highly acclaimed architectural firm. In 2019, his accomplishments were read into the U.S. Congressional Record and in 2022, an American flag was flown over the U.S. Capitol in Cartaya’s honor and presented to him during a bipartisan ceremony held in the Congressional Reading Room. Cartaya retired from his architectural firm in 2022 to focus on a new literary career. He brings his passion for excellence to his third book, Before the Revolution: The Untold Story of 100 Years of Friendship Between The United States and Cuba (Morgan James Publishing).
