Shelley R. Langdale

SHELLEY R. LANGDALE has held curatorial positions in works on paper collections at the Harvard Art Museums, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, the Cleveland Museum of Art, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art, before joining the National Gallery in her current position in 2019. Over the years, she has curated numerous exhibitions and published on topics that range from the 15th-century engravings of Antonio Pollaiuolo to the video installations and works on paper of contemporary artists Oscar Muñoz and Tabaimo. She served as the co-organizer of the World AIDS Day art installations and observances at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and was part of the curatorial team for the international contemporary art festival Philagrafika (2010), held throughout the city of Philadelphia. Langdale is also an advisor on the boards of The Print Center and the Brandywine Workshop and Archives in Philadelphia, and for the acquisition and advisory committees of the Bowdoin College Museum of Art in Maine.
