In Elena Armas’ Alma Vampires: A Novel, Val’s life changes drastically over the course of a winter break, when she goes from being an Ivy League scholarship student to inheriting a fortune from a mother she’s never met. The fate of Alma, a coveted fashion empire, is now in Val’s hands. Meanwhile, Hadrian, fronting as a calculating, self-serving player in the game of who will ultimately control the company, chases after his true, far more personal goal: A blood debt tied to a century-old wound that can finally being collected – and it involves the unsuspecting new heiress. Furious at everyone who has tried to manipulate her, Val returns to university, only to find her world has changed and Hadrian is now at its center. She doesn’t trust him, but he offers the protection she needs and a way to satiate a burgeoning, unfamiliar longing. Plagued by nightmares and the equally terrifying thoughts that plague her days, Val must decipher the secrets of her legacy and confront what she feels for Hadrian before the answers shatter her heart – or bind her soul to the monster she desires most. Joining Armas in conversation is critically acclaimed, bestselling author Meg Cabot, creator of the beloved Princess Diaries series.
