Led by founder Andrew Yeomanson, aka DJ Le Spam, Spam Allstars perform an innovative blend of Latin, funk, electronic, and improvisational music, with a sound described as “electronic descarga” – a modern twist on a traditional Latin jam session. Beginning with Le Spam’s experimental DJ gigs featuring live instruments, quirky spoken-word records, and even the smell of Spam frying onstage, the group evolved from these playful beginnings into a powerhouse band with a distinct sound. Today it’s a tight-knit collective of musicians performing an average of 200 shows per year across the U.S. and abroad, with stops in Europe, Canada, South America, and South Africa. The Spam Allstars include:

• DJ Le Spam (FX/turntables, Montreal)
• Tomas Diaz (percussion, Cuba)
• AJ Hill (saxophone, Miami)
• Chad Bernstein (trombone, Chicago)
• Jose Elias (guitar, Dominican Republic)
• Magela Herrera (flute, Cuba)
• Smurphio (keys, Houston)
