Born in Manhattan to Honduran immigrant parents, Oscar Fuentes, aka The Biscayne Poet, is a Miami-based multidisciplinary artist and author whose work explores family, memory, place, and the ever-changing story of Miami. He is the author of 13 books, including Geography of Light (2026), Poetry City (2025), and Biscayne Inferno and Other Stories (2025). A fixture in Miami’s literary and arts community for more than 30 years, he is known for his interactive typewriter poetry and jazz-poetry performances. He is represented by Indie Earth Books and Jitney Books.
